How we review

This page explains how the guides on BestPressureWashers.co.uk are put together.

Last updated · 25 August 2026

Editorial independence

Picks are set on the job first (cars, patio, cordless, petrol), then on the live UK price and what is actually in the box. An affiliate programme does not move a machine up the page. We do not accept payment for a higher ranking, a “best overall” badge, or a quieter criticism.

Where the facts come from

  1. Manufacturer spec sheets and UK product pages. Bar, flow, hose length, motor, weight, what is in the carton.
  2. Live UK retailers. Screwfix, Amazon UK, ITS, Kärcher UK, Very, Argos, B&Q, brand stores. Prices are dated on the page.
  3. Part numbers. A Flex kit is not the same box as last year’s stiff-hose model. We shop the number on the carton.

We use the rated working figure when a manufacturer also prints an “up to” peak. We treat VAT-inclusive street prices as the price you pay, not an ex-VAT trade figure.

What these guides are

Dean Smith does not run a test lab. These are buying guides. Runtime, noise and feel stay with the manufacturer or a named third-party review. If a price is not confirmed on the day, the page says “from about” or leaves that shop out.

When we update

We update when a featured price dies, a kit changes, a model is withdrawn, or something on the page is wrong. The date in the copy is the check date.

How the site is funded

Retailer links may be affiliate links. The price you pay does not change. See the affiliate disclosure.
